Valorant has had multiple episodes since its Closed Beta in April 2020, each containing three acts. The naming convention changed from 'Episode X' to 'V25/V26' format starting in 2025.
The Ascendant rank was added in Episode 5 (June 2022), filling the gap between Diamond and Immortal. It added three new divisions (Ascendant 1-3).
Valorant has had 5 distinct competitive tier set designs. Major changes include Immortal being collapsed to a single tier in Episode 2, restored in Episode 3, and Ascendant being added in Episode 5.
A typical Valorant act lasts approximately 2 months. Each episode contains three acts, making each episode roughly 6 months long.
