How We Build VALOHUB

ValoHub mixes public Valorant game data with hand-curated editorial rankings. This page explains exactly where each number comes from, how we score it, and how often we refresh it, so you can judge the content for yourself.

Agent tier list & meta

Our agent tier list and team compositions are an editorial baseline. Editors weigh professional play, ranked pick trends, and each patch's balance changes, then set a tier, win rate, and pick rate for every agent, and a win rate and pick rate for each composition, by hand.

We are deliberately transparent about what this is and is not. Those percentages are editor estimates, not measurements from ranked matches, so we do not break them down by map or rank: a per-map or per-rank number would have to be invented. Every page that shows them says which patch they were last reviewed for, with the live patch beside it, so you can see at a glance when a review is behind the game.

Agent matchup matrix

The matchup matrix covers every agent against every other agent that has matchup coverage. Each duel is scored from -5 to +5 from one agent's point of view, and the reverse matchup is the mirror image of that score, so the matrix stays internally consistent.

  • +3 to +5: a clear to hard advantage in the duel.
  • -2 to +2: a roughly even matchup decided by positioning and aim.
  • -3 to -5: a disadvantage, where the opposing agent's kit tends to win.

Scores reflect ability interactions, role dynamics, and how the fight usually resolves at a high level, and each matchup includes a short tactical tip rather than a number alone.

Game data & live stats

ValoHub does not have access to any private Riot Games systems. All factual game data is pulled from public sources and normalised into a consistent format:

  • valorant-api.com for agents, weapons, maps, cosmetics, contracts, and ranked tier sets.
  • Henrik API for Riot ID player lookups, leaderboards, the featured store rotation, server status, and the current game version.
  • VLR.gg community APIs for live esports scores and public pro player profiles.

Interactive tools such as the crosshair generator, the sensitivity calculator, and the economy reference are deterministic: they compute results directly from the values you enter.

How often we update

  • Tier list, meta & comps: editorial estimates. Each page shows the patch it was last reviewed for next to the live patch.
  • Game catalogs (agents, weapons, skins, bundles): synced regularly from valorant-api.com.
  • Live data (store, leaderboards, server status, esports): fetched on demand so it is current when you load the page.

Pages that carry editorial rankings show a last-updated date so you always know how current the assessment is.

Editorial standards

ValoHub is independent and not affiliated with Riot Games. No brand, team, or player can pay to change a ranking, a matchup score, or a guide. When the game changes and a previous take no longer holds, we update it rather than leaving stale content in place.

Frequently asked questions

Is the ValoHub agent tier list based on real match data?

No. It is an editorial assessment: editors review professional play, ranked trends, and each patch's balance changes, then set each agent's tier and estimated win and pick rates by hand. Every page that shows those numbers says so, along with the patch they were last reviewed for.

How often does ValoHub update its tier list and meta?

The agent tier list and team comps are updated manually. Each page shows the patch the list was last reviewed for next to the live patch, so a review that is behind the game is visible rather than hidden. Live data such as the featured store, leaderboards, server status, and esports scores updates automatically.

How do ValoHub's agent matchup scores work?

Every matchup is scored from -5 to +5 from one agent's perspective, and the reverse matchup is its mirror image. A larger positive score means a clearer advantage. Scores reflect ability interactions, role dynamics, and how the duel tends to play out, and each comes with a short tactical tip.

Where does ValoHub's game data come from?

Static game data (agents, weapons, maps, cosmetics, ranked tiers) comes from the public valorant-api.com catalog. Live player profiles, leaderboards, the store rotation, and server status come from the public Henrik API. Esports scores and pro player profiles come from public VLR.gg community APIs.

Who writes ValoHub's rankings and guides?

ValoHub is an independent fan project. Game data is sourced from public APIs, while rankings, tips, and guides are written and maintained editorially by ValoHub. See the About page for who runs the site.
